A 56-year-old man is dead following a vehicle crash in the Delaware County town of Harpersfield.

Authorities say Dominick Leone of Oneida lost control of the car on Gun House Hill Road around 7 a.m. Tuesday.

The vehicle went off the roadway, struck a culvert and earth embankment before coming to rest on its roof in a stream.

Investigators say firefighters and a nearby resident were able to right the car and extricate the driver. Leone was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials say the crash was reported nearly 30 minutes after it occurred.

An autopsy is to be conducted to determine the cause of Leone's death.

Investigators say while the cause of the crash had not been determined, they did not believe alcohol or drugs were a factor.
