A Town of Union man is being charged with criminally negligent homicide for allegedly selling heroin to a 26 year old Johnson City man, who died of an overdose.

Police say 29 year old Richard Gaworecki sold the drug that caused Nicholas McKierman to die.  Gaworecki appeared in Johnson City Court August 1 and was also charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance.

He is being held in the Broome County Jail without bail.

Village Police said the drug sale allegedly happened between July 21 and 22 at a home on Charlotte Street in the City of Binghamton.  Authorities said they had surveillance footage of the sale, tips from witnesses and other evidence.

In 2016, 65 year old Raymond Ellis Senior of Newark Valley was charged with criminally negligent homicide for selling 44 year old Maryanne Whitman narcotic pills at the Skylark Motel in Vestal in February of 2016, which caused her overdose death. He pleaded guilty in March of 2016.
