It is the area's premier high school football match-up and it is only the second week of the season.  Maine-Endwell visits Chenango Forks September 12 at 1:30 p.m. (air at 1:20 on News Radio 1290 WNBF) in a battle of football Titans.  The Spartans have established a new state record for consecutive victories with their 52nd straight win against Corning September 4.  The Blue Devils are two-time defending champions and have reeled off 42 wins in their last 48 games and are 24-1 in their last 25 outings.

Last October the two squared off under the lights at Maine-Endwell and the Spartans earned a hard fought 20-7 decision.  M-E has moved up a classification to Class "A" after three seasons and three state championships at the Class 'B" level.  Forks remains at Class 'C'.  No matter the outcome, both will have legitimate shots at winning another state crown.

Estimates for attendance at last year's game were 8,000 and officials at Chenango Forks say the crowd may reach or exceed that figure.  They advise fans to arrive early to secure seating or prime standing locations.
