Local Officials Sworn in at Noon New Year’s Day
The new year brings some new faces to local government.
Swearing-in ceremonies will be held January 1 for the new Broome County District Attorney, Michael Korchak, Endicott Mayor Linda Jackson, the Village’s first Republican Mayor in over a decade and Johnson City Trustees Clark Giblin and John Walker as well as Village Justice Gregory Thomas.
Korchak will be sworn in at noon at Saint Michael’s Recreation Center on Clinton Street in Binghamton. Former Binghamton Mayor Richard Bucci is acting as Master of Ceremonies with former Broome County Court Judge Martin Smith administering the oath of office.
The noon ceremonies in Johnson City are at the Village Justice Building.
Endicott’s new mayor takes the oath at noon in the rotunda of the Village Municipal Building. There is also to be a change in the Village meetings in the new year. Board meetings will be on the first and third Mondays at 7 p.m. with the work sessions preceding at 6 p.m. The next Endicott Village Board Meeting will be January 6.
