Again this year, local officers rode bicycles to the Nation’s Capitol as part of the Road to Hope hosted by Law Enforcement United.  The ride honors officers who have died in the line of duty and their families.

May 13 the 31st annual Candlelight Vigil was held to honor 371 fallen officers at the National Law Enforcement Memorial.  158 officers died last year and were formally dedicated last evening.

A total of 21,910 names are on the memorial.

May 15, flags will be flown at half staff in honor of peace officers.  It’s one of only two days regularly scheduled where the public, businesses and government offices are asked to fly the flag at half staff.
