The detective-drama movie was screened at the Phelps Mansion Museum March 6. Proceeds support the museum, which is located at 191 Court Street.

The Traffickers was written by Christopher Keeler and Jacqueline Sissenstein.

The local production features actors from the Binghamton area. Shooting began in the summer of 2011.

Speaking on WNBF Radio's Binghamton Now program, Keeler said most of the shooting was done on weekends to accommodate the schedules of the cast and crew who have full-time jobs.

Keeler noted flooding at some local sites used for original scenes caused some delays in production. Some scenes had to be shot again at new locations because certain sites were no longer available.

The Traffickers features a story focusing on the issue of international human trafficking. Because of the themes, the movie is not suitable for those under the age of sixteen.

The Phelps Mansion Museum is located just east of the Broome County Public Library.
