Pennsylvania State Police say they found a South Carolina man with loaded guns in his vehicle during a traffic stop on Interstate 81 in Susquehanna County.

Authorities say they pulled over a red 2014 Nissan Altima with South Carolina plates in New Milford at 9:36 a.m. Wednesday, June 23 on I81 North for an unspecified traffic issue.

The Trooper says 21-year-old Gregory Portee of Columbia and passenger Eric Copeland exhibited what was construed as indicators of criminal activity and agreed to allow a search of the vehicle.

The officer found a loaded 9 millimeter pistol under the driver’s and another loaded pistol in the glove box.

Troopers also found several plastic bags containing what’s believed to be marijuana in the rear passenger area as well as packaging material and scales.

State Police say neither Portee nor Copeland has a concealed-carry permit for the guns.

The men are charged with drug possession.
