January 27, businessman and Lyme Disease education advocate Nicholas Libous announced he is running for the 122 New York State Assembly seat currently held by long-time Assemblyman and fellow Republican Clifford Crouch.

Crouch announced in 2018 he would not be seeking another term. Crouch is currently the longest-serving Republican member of Assembly after taking the seat in 1995 following the resignation of Assemblyman Clarence Rappleyea.

Libous ran for the seat in 2018, but was defeated in the Republican primary and the general election where he appeared on the ballot on the Conservative line.

Libous says he plans to focus on creating jobs and making New York affordable for families and businesses.
