Johnson City Police Experience Phone Problems
A local municipal police department is again having trouble with its non-emergency, seven-digit phone line.
Overnight August 1, Johnson City Police posted on facebook that residents reported trouble reaching its (607) 729-9321 non-emergency office line.
If the line wasn’t answered, it didn’t roll over to another line.
If that happens, residents are told they should hang up and call the Broome County central communications number at (607) 778-1911, and choose option number one.

The emergency 911 line is operating normally.
On July 22, problems with the seven-digit, non-emergency lines were reported for Johnson City, Binghamton, Vestal and Endicott. In that disruption, the emergency 911 line also was not affected.
Authorities had no estimate as to when the latest issue in Johnson City might be corrected.
