Johnson City Man Accused in Main Street Stabbing

Johnson City Police say a Village resident is facing felony charges after a man was stabbed near Main Street Terrace July 17.

Police say 39-year-old Timothy Smith is charged with felony counts of assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

Smith is accused of stabbing the victim n the abdomen at around 6 p.m at the victim's apartment

Investigators say the two people knew each other.

Officials say the victim was treated for his wound at Wilson Memorial Regional Medical Center and later released.
