Jeff Maggert is the winner of the Dick's Sporting Goods Open as he finished 14 under par for a two stroke victory over Paul Goydos and four shots better than David Frost, Peter Senior, Jerry Smith, Corey Pavin and Ian Woosnam.  Maggert wins his second title in his last three starts and has won four times on the Champions Tour this year.

With his victory at the Dick's Sporting Goods Open Maggert earns $285,000 and overtakes Colin Montgomery for the top spot in points for the Charles Schwab Cup.  Maggert now has 2,992 points surpassing Montgomery who has earned 2,873 points.

Rod Spittle took a one stroke lead into the third round at 10 under par but finished in a tie for 12th place after shooting a final round 74...two shots over par.  Defending champion Bernhard Langer ended the tournament in a tie for 20th place....six under par for the tournament.  Two-time B C Open Champion Joey Sindelar finished 4-under for the weekend, tied for 34th place.
