An Endicott man faces felony charges after he allegedly would not allow a woman to leave a Johnson City home.

Authorities said police were called to a Crocker Avenue residence around 5 p.m. Saturday to investigate a "physical domestic dispute."

According to a news release issued Wednesday, 54-year-old Gerald Rick was accused of damaging property during the incident.

Police said Rick smashed items in the residence and would not allow the woman to leave. When officers arrived, he allegedly shut the door and would not allow them to enter.

Investigators said Rick, who does not live in the residence, prevented the woman from leaving by blocking the front door. Officers forced the door open to get inside and assist the woman.

Police said Rick was in possession of two gold rings and several prescription pills which he allegedly stole from the woman.

Rick was charged with aggravated family offense and unlawful imprisonment, He also was charged with criminal mischief, criminal possession of stolen property and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Rick was arraigned and sent to Broome County Jail.
