There are 17 Syracuse players currently in the NBA, and only three fines have been handed out for a total of $45,000. Jerami Grant and Michael Carter-Williams were responsible for these fines. The Syracuse alumni have also been ejected five times, three with Carmelo Anthony, the other two went to Dion Waiters and Carter-Williams.

Other College Rankings and Comparisons

The study also ranked colleges based on the behavior of their NBA players. The University of Houston was number one, with none of their 11 players receiving any fines, suspensions, or ejections in the past decade. The University of Virginia came in second, with only one fine among their 17 players.

Gonzaga University had 22 players in the NBA over the past 10 years, and landed in the fourth spot with three suspensions and five ejections. The University of Michigan's 26 players avoided any fines, earning them the seventh spot on the list.

Significance of the Behavior Study

This study is huge because player discipline in the NBA has been a concern in the last few years. The behavior of players on the court can impact a team's performance. For example, the Golden State Warriors struggle when Draymond Green is out with a losing record but have a winning record when Green is on the court.
