The Binghamton Police Department Detective Division is actively investigating a forcible touching and attempted abduction that occurred on September 6, 2025, at approximately 1:23 a.m.
The incident took place on Chestnut Street near Lincoln Avenue, where a male suspect physically accosted a lone female.
Detailed Description of Suspect Released by Police
Police have released a detailed description of the suspect. He is described as an Asian male in his 20s with black hair and a small build. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a thin metallic necklace, a black knit winter hat with a white logo, a white short-sleeve t-shirt, black pants, white socks, and black slippers.

Investigators are requesting assistance from residents in the Chestnut Street, Seminary Avenue, Leroy Street, Lincoln Avenue, Davis Street, Saint John Avenue, and Oak Street areas between Main Street and Leroy Street. Anyone with home video surveillance footage is urged to contact the Detective Division to aid in the investigation.
