Tuesday, May 5th - Yard Goats - 10  Rumble Ponies - 2

The Rumble Ponies fell in the opening game of the series against Hartford behind a 15-hit night for the Yard Goats. Hartford scored eight runs in the first two frames off of right-hander Will Watson, who pitched two-thirds of an inning and was replaced by right-hander Tanner Witt, who allowed four earned in his Rumble Ponies debut. The Rumble Ponies used seven arms, including infielder Wyatt Young, who made his third appearance of the season and went scoreless over two innings. Right-hander Kevin Gowdy and left-hander Matt Turner also each threw a scoreless frame. Nick Lorusso hit his second triple of the year and his third multi-hit game.

Wednesday, May 6th - Rumble Ponies - 4  Yard Goats - 3

The Binghamton Rumble Ponies walked it off in 10 innings to defeat the Hartford Yard Goats. Binghamton trailed 3-2 in the bottom of the eighth inning, but left fielder Jose Ramos changed that with one swing, smashing a game-tying home run to center field. It traveled 407 feet and was hit 107 miles per hour off the bat. Shortstop Diego Mosquera laid down a sacrifice bunt to move second baseman Wyatt Young to third base in the 10th inning, and Eli Serrano III came up to the plate and delivered his second walk-off sacrifice fly of the year. Jose Ramos smashed his fourth homer of the year (2-for-4, HR), and Chris Suero now has a team lead of five home runs (1-for-4, HR).

 Thursday, May 7th - Yard Goats - 5  Rumble Ponies - 3

The Rumble Ponies' late comeback was held off by Hartford as the Yard Goats held on for a 5-3 victory.  Hartford’s offense exploded at the top of the seventh inning for three runs behind a two-run home run from center fielder GJ Hill, which was his first of the year. All three runs were off of Binghamton right-hander Kevin Gowdy, who pitched one-third of an inning in relief. Right-hander Jordan Geber tallied his best start of the season for Binghamton, tossing a season-high 5.0 innings, allowing just two earned runs while striking out three and not walking one batter. Jordan Geber set a season high for innings pitched (5.0 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 0 BB, 3 SO). Felix Cepeda made his Binghamton debut.

Friday, May 8th - Yard Goats - 4  Rumble Ponies - 2

In a pitchers' duel between Binghamton left-hander Jonathan Santucci and Hartford right-hander Jake Brooks, Binghamton fell to the Hartford Yard Goats. Santucci sets a career high of 6.1 innings pitched with seven strikeouts and zero walks surrendered. The Mets' number nine prospect allowed just one run and four hits in his best outing of the year. Brooks was efficient over 6.1 innings pitched, throwing 62 pitches and 50 of those for strikes. The right-hander did not allow a run and just one hit until the sixth inning when third baseman Jacob Reimer hit a first-pitch solo home run. Jonathan Santucci set a career high for innings pitched (6.1 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 7 SO), and Jacob Reimer mashed his second home run of the year.

Game 1 - Yard Goats - 5  Rumble Ponies - 2

Hartford got on the board first in the top of the second inning, jumping out to a 2-0 lead. Right fielder Zach Kokaska belted a two-run shot down the right field line and brought in catcher Cole Messina, who had a one-out single. The Rumble Ponies tied the game in the bottom of the second inning. Designated hitter Eli Serrano III tallied his eighth double and 12th extra-base hit of the year, with a two-run double. He scored right fielder Matt Rudick and second baseman Diego Mosquera, who both walked. Right-hander Irving Cota got the ball for Binghamton, making his second career Double-A start, and was hit around 4.2 innings. He surrendered nine hits and allowed five earned runs. Cota did not walk a batter and struck out four. Binghamton left six on base and went 1-for-9 with runners in scoring position to fall to 11-20 in the 5-2 loss.

Game 2 - Yard Goats - 5  Rumble Ponies - 0

The Yard Goats exploded in the top of the second inning, chalking up six hits and five runs to take a 5-0 lead. Kokaska highlighted the inning with a three-run blast, his second homer of the doubleheader. The home run for Kokaska set a Hartford franchise record of 38 career home runs. Right-hander R.J. Gordon made his season debut for Binghamton but did not finish two innings and allowed seven hits and four earned runs. The Rumble Ponies' bullpen was outstanding, using four pitchers. Left-hander Matt Turner, right-hander Brian Metoyer, and right-hander Douglas Orellana all did not surrender a hit. Left-hander Felipe De La Cruz got the ball in the seventh inning and allowed one hit. Eli Serrano III tallied his 12th extra-base hit, and eighth double, and Wyatt Young tallied his fourth multi-hit game in game two.
