I've always found Radio-Controlled Air Shows to be fascinating. While I've never owned or flown an RC craft, I imagine it is very exciting...even just to watch.

For those of you who also find this exciting as I do, good news...the Binghamton Aeros have announced that they are hosting their 41st Annual Festival of Giants R/C Airshow this summer.

This event will be held at the Chenango Bridge Airport, located on Airport Road, just off River Road in Chenango Bridge on Friday, August 7th and Saturday, August 8th, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

The Binghamton Aeros note that skilled pilots will fly (by remote control, of course) hundreds of the largest radio-controlled aircraft from all over the United States.

And some of those aircraft are as large as half the size of the real plane. I've seen examples in videos, and they sure are large! According to the Binghamton Aeros, flying during the event will be almost non-stop. The day will feature everything you can imagine, from Giant Biplanes to Real Turbine Jets.

Throughout the event, food and refreshments will be available, along with raffle tables, and it is in support of CHOW. Admission to the 41st Annual Festival of Giants R/C Airshow is free, but cash or non-perishable food items are requested. Parking will be available at the airport.

Want to see in advance what it's all about? Check out the Spirit of Flight video below from the August 2025 event at the Chenango Bridge Airport.

Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy the excitement of the R/C Airshow. For more information, visit the Festival of Giants R/C Airshow website, or email binghamtonaeros@gmail.com.
