Two Endwell men are accused of going through unlocked vehicles and stealing items November 14.

Broome County Sheriff’s officials say two men dressed in dark clothing were seen coming out of a yard with flashlights on Smith Drive in Endwell that morning and tried to flee on foot.

27 year old Verties Toran Junior and 21 year old Jacqub Sterling were stopped by patrols in the area and several items taken from vehicles were recovered, including a digital camera, e-cigarette and a gift card.

Authorities say the items were likely taken from the unlocked vehicles in the Country Club Road and Smith Drive areas.

Investigators say some of the owners of the recovered items have not been located.

Residents who may have had items taken from their cars should contact the Broome County Sheriff’s office.

Authorities again remind residents to make sure their vehicles and homes are locked and never leave valuables in a vehicle, even if it is locked.

Both Toran and Sterling are charged with criminal possession of stolen property and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
