A raid on a Johnson City hotel room has resulted in numerous charges against the woman occupying the room, including multiple counts of drug possession.   

The Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force searched an unidentified hotel room in the Village October 26 and arrested 40-year-old Kaycee Spawn.

Spawn’s home address was not provided. 

Authorities say they confiscated 43 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 7 grams of cocaine and a quantity of Fentanyl in the raid. 

In addition, S.I.U. Investigators say they confiscated drug paraphernalia items used in the sale and distribution of narcotics. 

Spawn is charged with four counts of felony Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third degree and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the fourth degree.  Spawn is also charged with two counts of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the second degree. 

Officers transported the woman to the Johnson City Police Department to be processed on the charges and she was being held to await further action from the New York State Department of Community Supervision.

The Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force is made up of members of the Broome County Sheriff’s office as well as municipal police agencies in the area.  The City of Binghamton Police and Johnson City Police Department officers are also assigned to the S.I.U. 

According to the New York State penal code, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third degree is a Class B felony which could carry a sentence of up to 25 years in prison in a conviction. The lesser count of fourth degree possession is a Class C felony with a possible sentence of 15 years under a conviction.
