Police are reporting a shocking story of horrific child abuse out of Northeast Pennsylvania.

22 year old Jakayo Frye and 22 year old Shyanne Marie Hills, both of the Towanda area are accused of abusing a 9 year old girl and a 7 year old boy under their care at a home on Crimson Maple Drive in Rome Borough.

State Police say the pair is accused of hitting the children with fists and objects, depriving them of sleep, food and water and not allowing them to use the bathroom, forcing them to drink their own urine off the floor. Troopers say between July 20 and the 27th, other children were also forced to hit the victims.

Investigators say one of the victims was tied with a belt to a dog cage and also tied to a cabinet handle while being were beaten.  The victims were also allegedly forced into a plank position with nails pointed up under them so, if they fell, the nails would stick into them.

The children had been dropped off by their mother so Frye and Hills could provide child care for a week. The boy and girl were hospitalized at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre.

Frye and Hills are charged with numerous felony counts of aggravated assault, unlawful restraint, false imprisonment and endangering the welfare of a child as well as misdemeanor charges of simple assault, terrorist threats, recklessly endangering another person and corruption of minors.
