A Utica man is facing a number of charges after a high-speed chase on Interstate 81 in Broome and Cortland counties.

New York State Police say a trooper tried to pull over a reported stolen car in the Town of Barker.  But state police say the driver wouldn't stop and headed north at speeds over 100 miles per hour.

Broome and Cortland County Sheriff's cars joined the pursuit.  Troopers say the chase ended when the car headed south and then rammed into a Broome County Sheriff's vehicle.  The driver was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit

34-year-old Scott Mowry is charged with reckless endangerment, criminal mischief and criminal possession of stolen property---all felonies.  He also faces a misdemeanor count of unlawfully fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle plus several traffic violations.
