The area High School Football Season enters week four Friday night.  At Alumni Stadium The Binghamton Patriots host the Vestal Golden Bears at 7 PM (6:55 on News Radio 1290 WNBF).  The Patriots topped Horseheads last Saturday 35-14 to up their record to 2-1 while Horseheads falls to 1-2.

The Patriots showed a powerful ground attack.  Speedster Amman Weaver rushed for 147 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 19 carries.  Bruising back Joe Crowley carried eight times for 98 yards and two touchdowns.  Brandon Hernandez put up some big numbers also.  He gained 84 yards on 12 attempts against the Blue Raiders.

The Golden Bears got off to a 2-0 start before getting slammed by the U-E Tigers last Friday, 29-6.  Vestal was down by a single point at the half but the Tigers scored 22 unanswered points in the final two quarters to post the victory.

Prior to last weekend the Golden Bears exhibited a solid running attack with big wins over Norwich and Corning.  Quarterback Nick Wegmann ran for 150 yards at Corning while halfback Zach Cook ripped off 232 yards in that game for the Golden Bears.  Vestal is expected to be missing one of their premier players, Pat Carlin, who was ejected early in the U-E game.  An ejection carries a suspension for the following game as well.
