According to a press release from United Healthcare Workers East 1199SEIU the representative of Absolut Endicott, along with NYS Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo will speak to the community and the media this afternoon at 3pm about the Nursing home’s lack of collective bargaining agreement.

The press release also states that management at Absolut Endicott has consistently refused to attend any bargaining meetings and have cancelled or postponed any scheduled meetings.

The staff has worked without a union contract since April 30th   and has created  a turnover in staff, short staffing and has impacted quality care within the facility.

The workers representatives were in negations with Absolut Endicott Tuesday afternoon when the management proposed eliminating workers’ pensions, and stopping the training and upgrading funds that provide tuition reimbursements, along with a small wage increase.

The meeting is open to the public and media and will take place today (11-18-20) at Absolut Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation 310 Nantucket Dr, Endicott from 3p-3:45p
