Handgun Brandished During Dispute in Tioga
Two Owego residents are facing charges following a dispute in the Town of Tioga in which a handgun was reportedly brandished.
New York State Police say 35 year old William Hyer is charged with felony tampering with evidence and misdemeanor menacing and endangering the welfare of a child. 41 year old Eini Raupers is also charged with felony tampering with evidence for hiding the gun following the dispute.
Troopers say a verbal dispute started at a home on Airways Road June 27 after Raupers and Hyer went to the home and began to argue with the residents. Hyer is accused of waving a handgun and threatening to shoot one of the residents before he and Raupers allegedly hid the gun.
The pair was arrested a short time later.
Hyer was sent to the Tioga County Jail on $15,000 bail while Raupers was released on her own recognizance.
