Vampire Bites Pastry-Cheese Appetizers (Prep. time: 20 minutes. Serves 12)

1 C. softened cream cheese

6 sheets Phyllo pastry sheets

1/3 stick butter

2-3 Tb. hot sauce

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Preheat oven to 370. Melt the butter in a small pan.  Two sheets at a time lay out the pastry sheets and brush with the melted butter, including the top layer.   (When dealing with Phyllo, make sure you cover sheets left behind with a damp paper towel while laying down and buttering the sheets on the pan to prevent drying and crumbling.) With a wheel (pizza) cutter or knife, slice the sheet into 12 squares.  place about a quarter to half teaspoon dollop of cream cheese in the center of each sheet and drizzle hot sauce on top (as much as you dare but not too much to ooze out too much). Fold one pointed end over to the opposite side point and the side points in to the center. Brush top with melted butter.  Place on baking sheet and bake the triangles for about 10 minutes until crisp.

To make the little 'fangs' look more scary, brush the tip of the points with hot sauce, barbeque sauce or marinara to look like blood.

Best if served hot. Easily warmed up in a toaster oven for about five minutes.
