Graduation Weekend at Binghamton University
Commencement ceremonies continue throughout the weekend on campus at Binghamton University. The ceremonies are being held in the Events Center. Saturday's first commencement session was for the Thomas J. Watson School of Engineering and Applied Science held at 8:30 AM. At noon the College of Community and Public Affairs present diplomas. At 3:30 PM those enrolled in the School of Mangement receive their diplomas.
On Sunday the first group to receive their degrees is from Harpur College of Arts and Sciences #1. At 12:30 P.M. commencement exercises will be held for the Harpur College of Arts and Sciences #2. The final group to take part in the commencement ceremonies will be Harpur College of Arts and Sciences #3.
Over 3,800 degrees are being conferred this weekend. More then 2,900 baccalaureate degrees are being awarded. Over 800 master's degrees are being awarded and 103 doctoral candidates will be hooded.
Graduation ceremonies at Binghamton University began on Friday morning. Overall nine different graduation sessions are being held. Travelers using the Vestal Parkway (Route 434) may experience heavier than usual traffic throughout the weekend. Many families are utilizing restaurants and motels on or near the Parkway for their visits.
