The sunny and dry weather that blanketed our region for the past several days made a swift departure this (Thursday) afternoon when thunderstorms moved through the area.  With the threat of rain in the forecast already the National Weather Service issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning early this afternoon.  The Warning expired at 4:30 PM.

The storm front moved in for the west.  Wind gusts up to 60 miles per hour were possible.  The National Weather Service forecast includes the possibility of more showers or thunderstorms into Friday but the threat of severe weather has greatly diminished.
