Joe Girard III scored on a spectacular baseline drive as the buzzer sounded to give the Glens Falls Indians the Class B crown in the NYSPHSAA Boys Basketball Championships at the Floyd L. Maines Veterans Memorial Arena on Saturday evening.   Girard III  finished with 50 points to lead Glens Falls to the win over the Lowville Red Raiders.  Girard III caught an inbounds pass from his cousin Trenton and then cut down the baseline to score on a nifty layup that gave the Indians a 75-74 overtime win.  Girard III, who is headed to Syracuse to play this fall, performed in front of his soon to be head coach Jim Boeheim who was in attendance.

Girard III went 10-16 on two-point shots, 6-24 from three-point range and made 12 of 14 free throws.  Lowville had Glens Falls on the run for much of the game and led at the half 37-34.  The game looked all but over with less than four seconds left in the overtime session and Lowville up by one point.  But then Girard III struck to end it.
