Cortland County Sheriff's officials say a man suffered a huge cut to his forehead and several chipped teeth after an acquaintance smacked him in the face with a frying pan.

Deputies say the 24 year old man was staying at the Route 41 home of 32 year old Michael Johnson when he was hit in the face while sleeping at 9:18 a.m. October 19 and chased from the Willet home.

Johnson is charged with felony criminal possession of a weapon and assault.

He was sent to the Cortland County Jail on $5,000 bail.
