Former Children’s Home Social Worker Charged
A Vestal man arrested in October on child pornography charges was a former social worker with the Children’s Home of the Wyoming Conference in Hillcrest.
New York State Police arrested 39-year-old Eric Hedges October 28 and charged him with felony counts of promoting a sexual performance of a child and possessing a sexual performance of a child as well as misdemeanor obstruction of governmental administration.
A statement from the Children’s Home says the charges do not involve the local organization. He had undergone a background check before being hired by the Wyoming Conference and is a licensed clinical social worker in New York State.
The Home says Hedges had offered another social worker job with another agency in May.
