The American Dairy Association and Tioga County Agricultural Resource Group are distributing food at a drive-through event Wednesday July 22 at 4 p.m. at the Tioga County Fairgrounds.

540 boxes of produce and 180 boxes of dairy products will be handed out while supplies last.

In addition to the food distribution, another one-thousand gallons of milk is being made available to residents in Tioga County through local food pantries.

Organizers say to ensure safety, all drivers and passengers must remain in their vehicles during the event and will be prompted to open their trunk to receive the products.

If a car doesn’t have a trunk, drivers will be prompted to open their window.

There is no registration or paperwork required for the distribution.

I spoke with Miranda Palmer from the Tioga Country Agricultural Resource Group on First News Binghamton this morning about the distribution event and she said “You do not have to be a resident of Tioga Country to receive the food boxes,, and anyone coming through will receive 40 pounds of food while they last”.

This is made possible through the government federally-funded Coronavirus Food Assistance Program with the help of the Tioga Country Agricultural Resource Group.

Milk and dairy products are necessary as part of our essential nutrients.
