According to a report from WSYR TV in Syracuse, a large boom was heard a little after 12 noon on Wednesday afternoon, that was determined by the American Meteor Society to be a fireball, which is described as a larger meteor that most that traditionally enter our atmosphere.

The Meteor entered above Toronto, and because of the overcast sky in New York State it was not visible to many spectators, but the loud noise was enough to flood 911 and other agencies with calls reporting the noise.

Many people did witness  the event which was seen throughout New York State, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Ohio, Michigan and Ontario.

It’s not often we get to witness something like this, even through it was obscured by Clouds .
