Fire officials are looking into the cause of a blaze April 28 in Windsor that destroyed a mobile home and claimed the lives of several family pets.

No people were hurt when fire broke out at the home on Dickinson Road shortly before 10:30 a.m.

Firefighters from a half dozen departments responded to the scene and worked into the afternoon.

The mobile home was a total loss and a nearby garage was also damaged.

The Southern Tier Chapter of the American Red Cross was called in to assist a half dozen residents displaced by the fire.

Responding to the scene were: the Windsor, West Windsor, Five Mile Point, Harpursville, Conklin and Kirkwood fire departments as well as law enforcement and medical personnel.
