Endicott Teenager Dies After Vestal Parkway Crash
Vestal police say a woman was pronounced dead at the scene of a rollover crash on Route 434.
Authorities say 18-year-old Kiarah Friends of Endicott was found outside the vehicle.
Police were sent to the scene around 5:10 a.m. Saturday. The crash occurred near Chuckster's Family Fun Park at 1915 Vestal Parkway West.
Investigators say Friends was the only occupant of the vehicle. They say she was located in the center median of the highway.
Vestal police were assisted by the Vestal Volunteer Emergency Squad and the Broome County Sheriff's Office Accident Reconstruction Team.
Police did not say whether anyone witnessed the crash or how much time may have elapsed before it was reported.
No information was provided about the circumstances surrounding the incident.
A section of Route 434 was closed for nearly three hours after the crash.
