Endicott Police Warn About Thefts from Cars

Endicott Police say they have been taking several reports recently about items stolen from vehicles in the village.

Authorities say the incidents have happened overnight in the areas of Zimmer Avenue, Groats Street and East Franklin Street.

Police again remind people to lock up their vehicles and homes at night.

Last year the department launched a social media initiative aimed at cutting down on vehicle larcenies in which a reminder, dubbed the 9 PM Routine,  is sent out on Facebook and other platforms each night to use often humorous memes to prompt people to remove valuables from vehicle and lock cars and homes.

There’s been no word from authorities if they have seen any marked reduction in the number of thefts from cars in the Village since the #9PMRoutine launched.
