Endicott Man Guilty of 2017 Vestal Burglary

An Endicott man is to be sentenced in October now that a Broome County jury has found him guilty of felony burglary and grand larceny and misdemeanor criminal possession of stolen property in a September 2017 Vestal break-in.

In addition to that incident in which a truck and tools were stolen from a business on Commerce Road, 49-year-old Paul Huss was also believed to have been involved in the theft of dozens of military grave markers.

The Broome County District Attorney’s Office says if the court decides Huss is a persistent felony offender, he faces a minimum of 12 years in prison.

Huss had been charged along with 36-year-old Shane Karika of Castle Creek in connection with the Vestal incident.

During the investigation, officials searched an address in Endicott and found evidence of the burglary along with a collection of United States military veteran and American Legion grave markers.
