State police at Endwell charged a man with driving while intoxicated, released him and then arrested him again for the same offense a short time later.

21-year-old Ala Alguhem of Endicott first was arrested around 11 p.m. February 16.

According to a news release, a trooper spotted a car stuck in a snowbank on East Main Street in Endwell shortly after a hit-and-run crash had occurred in Endicott.

Alguhem was charged with DWI, issued appearance tickets for Union town court and turned over to a sober third party.

Around 2 a.m. February 17, Alguhem was arrested again after troopers spotted a speeding vehicle on North Street in Endicott. It was the same car Alguhem had been driving earlier.

Alguhem again was charged with DWI. He was transported to the Broome County public safety building for processing.
