Another bank office has quietly moved into a building on Court Street in the heart of downtown Binghamton.

Elmira Savings Bank moved its mortgage loan center from a Vestal Parkway site it had used for several years.

The office was relocated to 84 Court Street about four weeks ago.

That space had been vacant since September 2016 when Citizens Bank closed its downtown office.

Elmira Savings Bank filed an application with state regulators seeking approval to open a branch office at the site.

No exterior signs are posted on the Court Street building to indicate the mortgage loan office has opened. Small signs do appear on doors.

One employee indicated the bank may be planning to open a regular branch office at the site in the future.

Elmira Savings Bank president Thomas Carr and other company officials did not return calls seeking comment about the Binghamton office.
