Drama Teacher Pleads Guilty to Sexual Assault in Athens & Sayre
A former teacher from Tioga County, New York, accused of sexual assaults in Bradford County, Pennsylvania schools is awaiting sentencing in December after pleading guilty to two counts of institutional sexual assault.
38-year-old Justin Shaw had also been charged with corruption of minors, unlawful contact with a minor, indecent assault and harassment for incidents allegedly involving students in the Athens and Sayre school districts and in Waverly.
Shaw was a drama teacher at the schools and operated the Justin Shaw Academy of the Performing Arts in Athens.
He was arrested in June after Pennsylvania State Police said they had been investigating one complaint involving a juvenile when more teens were located and court actions were filed for alleged incidents involving four children.
Sentencing is set for December 5.
