Dr. Bai Lee was honored this week in Seoul with the prestigious KBS Global Korean Award.  KBS is a government network in South Korea which is similar to the Public Broadcasting Service in the United States.

In a press release from UHS citing the award  it is noted that the KBS Korean Awards honor native Koreans who have made "notable contributions to the advancement of the welfare of mankind."  Dr. Lee worked in New York City and elsewhere in the northeast before joining UHS in 1972.

In the press release from UHS it is noted that Dr. Lee is a board-certified specialist who has been a pioneer in the creation of the high-risk pregnancy center at UHS Medical Center along with the introduction of ultrasound and laparoscopic techniques.

Along with numerous humanitarian projects that Dr. Lee has been involved with in both Korea and in the Greater Binghamton area, last year Dr. Bai Lee donated one million dollars to the Athletics Department at Binghamton University.  The donation touched several different areas and resulted in the naming of the basketball court at the Events Center as "Dr. Bai Lee Court".
