Operations were set up in two different work zones on Interstate 81 in Broome County.

Troopers wrote ten tickets for speeding, nine for drivers using their cell phones, 6 for seat belt violations, one for not moving over for construction and emergency vehicles and seven for other violations.

As of mid-September over 1,600 tickets have been issued throughout New York State in the effort designed to heighten awareness and protect construction crews in dangerous work zones.
