The Southern Tier Law Enforcement Memorial Association has announced that Police Week is Sunday, May 4, 2025, through Saturday, May 10.

This year will honor the 30th anniversary of the line-of-duty death of Binghamton Police Patrolman Lee E. Barta. According ot the announcement, his widow, Mary Barta, will be speaking at the Memorial Breakfast on Tuesday, May 6th. Lindsay Ahern, the widow of Endicott Policeman Sean Ahern, who passed away from natural causes, will also speak on Tuesday.

The Southern Tier Law Enforcement Association adds that Edward Kiluk, a veteran of the New York State Police and the Johnson City Police Department, will be added to the permanent and portable memorial walls. Kiluk passed away from cancer developed as a result of his work at the 9/11 World Trade Center recovery site.

Events scheduled for Police Week are as follows:

Sunday, May 4th - Memorial Church Service
2 p.m. at The Father's Heart, 117 Powderhouse Road, Vestal

Monday, May 5th - Memorial Flag Raising Ceremony
11 a.m. at the Binghamton  Police Headquarters, 38 Hawley Street, Binghamton

Tuesday, May 6th - Memorial Breakfast
9 a.m., at the Endwell Greens Event Center, 3675 Sally Piper Road, Endwell

Friday, May 9th - Cornhole Tournament
5 p.m., at the American Legion Post 1645, 177 Robinson Street, Binghamton

Saturday, May 10th - Community Day
10 a.m., at Dick's House of Sport parking lot, 629 Harry L. Drive, Johnsocn City (outside of the Oakdale Commons, formerly the Oakdale Mall.)
