Disc Golf is gaining in popularity around the area and tomorrow (Saturday, August 3) the Greater Binghamton Disc Golf Club is hosting an instructional clinic and tournament at Campville Commons in Endicott.  It is part of National Disc Golf Day.

Disc Golf incorporates many of the rules and terminology used in traditional golf.  The sport attracts people of all ages.  Outdoor courses have developed around the country.  The sport is economical and involves the use of flying discs and metal targets.

In the Greater Binghamton area four courses are available.  Earlier this summer the Greater Binghamton Disc Golf Club held its first sanctioned PDGA tournament, the Southern Tier Open. Club members compete locally as well as around the state and the nation.

On Saturday the Greater Binghamton Golf Club holds a clinic beginning at 9:00 AM followed by a tournament beginning at 10:00 AM.  Both are set for the newly constructed Campvile Commons and are being held to introduce the public to the sport of Disc Golf.
