Dining for Dollars Helps Faith in Action Serve Our Community
Last Thursday a number of area clergy teamed up to wait on tables and even sing to earn tips to benefit Faith in Action Volunteers which is part of the Broome County Council of Churches. Faith in Action Volunteers help those 60 plus in our community stay active and involved in life's activities.
An estimated 150 people attended the dinner at the Polish Community Center on Prospect Street in Binghamton. Eleven members of the clergy and guest servers Sheriff David Harder and WNBF Morning Show host Roger Neel participated.
The menu included halupki, chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans and salad plus cake for dessert. Money raised from sold dinner tickets and tips earned helps Faith in Action and their many projects including the Ramp It Up Program which helps fund and construct wheelchair ramps for those in need.
