Dick’s Sporting Goods CEO Could Be Exploring 2020 Presidential Run, Reports Say

Reports suggest billionaire Dick's Sporting Goods CEO Ed Stack is considering throwing his name in the running for President of the United States.

According to Politico, messages were presented to a Southern Wisconsin focus group which surrounded Stack, President Donald Trump, and Democratic candidates Joe Biden and Elizabeth Warren.

A source that took part in the focus group, Politico reports, said the messages focused on Stack, including showing "strong leadership" in stopping DSG stores' sales of assault-style weapons.

A source close to Stack told Politico the CEO has no plans to run for office at this time.

The billionaire Stack is a known Republican donor, but Politico states that it would appear that Stack could run as a third-party candidate, as one of the questions presented to the group was, “Would you be open to voting for a third party candidate?”
