Binghamton police are investigating a reported robbery of a pizza delivery driver in the city's First Ward.

A man delivering for Papa John's Pizza reportedly was attacked on a dead-end street just off Clinton Street around 4:30 p.m. Monday (March 14).

The driver sustained a head injury when he apparently was struck with an object on Matis Street, next to St. Michael's Recreation Center.

The man was bleeding from the head before medics tended to him. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Police at the scene did not comment on whether anything was taken from the driver.

Two suspects who were involved in the incident reportedly fled the scene on foot.
