The police dog was responsible for numerous arrests, his first coming as his paws hit the ground for duty less than 24 hours after graduating from training in July, 2013.

The 7 year old was born in Czechoslovakia and specialized in narcotics detection, handler protection and tracking.

The Sheriff's office says Ozzie will be greatly missed by the department, the community and, most of all, his handler, Major John DeMeo.

As is the custom with the passing of members of law enforcement, Delaware County 911 acknowledged Ozzie's Final Call/End of Watch out of service at 11:32 4/24/20.
