New York State Police received a report of a missing person at around 11 p.m. December 30 and began a search for 74 year old Marvin Taub in the Town of Davenport.

Troopers say Taub had picked up his neighbor's dogs to walk them at the Pine Lake Campus of Hartwick College.

Taub's vehicle was found at the Pine Lake Campus parking lot.

Search teams made up of the State Police, New York State Forest Rangers, Hartwick College Public Safety and Davenport Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel located tracks at around 1:30 a.m. December 31 leading to a frozen pond on campus.

Boats and rescue equipment were used by fire personnel to recover Taub's body from the pond.

Delaware County Medical Examiner, James Cooros determined Taub died as a result of hypothermia and drowning.

The dogs were located at the Pine Lake campus and returned to their owner.
