Delaware County Sheriff’s officials say a Deposit couple is facing several charges in connection with burglaries at the Solid Waste Management Center in Walton.

Sheriff’s Deputies say 43-year-old Michael Hazen and 38-year-old Edna Cering were arrested at 4:38 a.m. February 5 in connection with the burglaries that occurred January 31 and February 4th.

Deputies conducting a security check at the Solid Waste Management Center spotted a vehicle driven by Hazen and say they found he and Cering were in possession of stolen materials from the center.

Authorities say they also determined Hazen was driving while under the influence of drugs.

He’s charged with two counts of burglary, two counts of petit larceny, driving while ability impaired by drugs, operating an uninspected vehicle and driving a vehicle with an obstructed view.

Cering is charged with one count each of burglary and petit larceny.

Both were released under the bail reform laws and ordered to appear in Walton Town Court at a later date.
