Deceased Weitsman Worker Identified

New York State Police say an Owego man, employed by Upstate Shredding, also known as Ben Weitsman and Son Recycling in Owego, was walking across the scrap yard when he was hit and killed by a front loader driven by another employee June 23.

The worker who was killed has been identified as 49 year old Michael Burke.

Burke died at the scene.

The New York State Police, Owego Police Department and United States Occupational Safety and Health Administration are continuing to investigate.
