
Death of Woman in Binghamton Fire ‘Not Suspicious’
City of Binghamton Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding an apartment house fire August 11 in which a woman died.

Detective Lieutenant Cory Minor says, however, the woman's death is not suspicious. Her name has not been released.

Firefighters were called to the eight-unit apartment building at 89 Glenwood Avenue at around 7:27 a.m.
11 tenants were evacuated from the West Side building but authorities had reported one person dead.
A Binghamton firefighter suffered a minor injury at the scene.
Officials say the majority of the damage was confined to the deceased woman's apartment.
